Sculpted mountain peaks

There is something truly magnificent about the Italian dolomites, the way that the elements have sculpted them almost makes it look like a work of art.

There are mountain peaks galore to photograph, numbering 18 peaks in total which rise to above 3,000 metres (9842 feet).

The region boasts some of the most beautiful mountain landscapes anywhere in the world, with vertical walls, sheer cliffs and a high density of narrow, deep and long valleys.

Lakes and valleys

The Dolomites are filled with beautiful alpine lakes, such as Lake Braies and Lake Misurina. These lovely serene lakes, framed by towering peaks offer us some incredible scenes to photograph, especially during sunrise or sunset.

Mountain passes

Despite their wild and rugged appearance, many of the most incredible views are in fact very accessible. The Dolomites are crisscrossed by a number of scenic mountain passes and roads, such as the iconic Passo Giau. These locations offer fantastic panoramic views.

Historic churches and villages

There are many lovely alpine villages like Cortina d’Ampezzo where you can capture the unique architecture against the mountainous backdrop. The contrast between traditional buildings and the rugged landscape can make for compelling images throughout the seasons.

Above the clouds

The unique geology of the Dolomites, characterized by steep rock walls and spires, provides interesting textures and patterns for photography. We will experiment with different angles to highlight these geological features, and also shoot from elevated viewpoints to capture these peaks enshrouded in mist and cloud.
