Namibia offers a diverse range of stunning landscapes and unique wildlife attractions, making it a paradise for photographers.
Among the many animals you can see in Namibia are: lions, elephants, giraffes, hippopotamus, cheetahs, black and white rhinos, wildebeest, hyenas, vultures, black backed jackals, ostriches, zebras, seals, dikdiks (a tiny antelope species), baboons, springboks, wild dogs, kudus and oryx.
Situated in the northwest of Namibia, Etosha National Park is one of the largest national parks in Africa.
The park’s defining feature is an expansive salt pan visible from space. A rich variety of wildlife gathers around waterholes scattered throughout the land, therefore sightings are almost guaranteed.
Additionally, Etosha National Park stands out as one of the most easily accessible game reserves in both Namibia and Southern Africa.
Namibia’s low population density and clear, dark skies make it an ideal location for astrophotography. You’ll get the chance to try some and maybe capture the Milky Way and other celestial wonders in the Quiver Tree forest, whose wonderful spiky branches make stunning foreground silhouettes against the starry backdrop. The forest was declared a national monument of Namibia in 1995.
One of the most fascinating of the peoples of Namibia are the red ochre people of the Kaokoland deserts. They are often associated with the Himba, a semi-nomadic indigenous people living in the remote northwestern part of Namibia, particularly in the Kunene Region. The Himba are known for their distinctive appearance, traditional lifestyle, and the use of red ochre paste, which gives their skin and hair a reddish-brown hue.
The legendary Sossusvlei desert is an ancient, arid, and exceptionally unspoiled region of expansive landscapes, limitless horizons, striking desert formations, and rugged mountain peaks.
The dazzling yellow dunes at Sossusvlei are a sight of unimaginable beauty. Towering at over 230 meters (750 feet), these awe-inspiring unspoilt dunes are molded incessantly by the coastal wind, and rank among the tallest in the world.
