For wildlife photography with a full-frame DSLR or mirrorless camera, it’s recommended to bring telephoto lenses (and possibly converters) that span the 100-600mm range, and even more if you’re interested in capturing small to medium-sized birds. Most mammal shots in the Maasai Mara are typically taken within the 200-400mm range. Additionally, having a wide-angle lens around 24mm is ideal for landscape photography, while focal lengths up to 70mm can be advantageous for river crossings and other scenarios.
