Florida Wildlife & Landscapes – 1 Day Photo Shoot

Learn  how to best use your camera settings to capture  birds in flight and serene sunsets in South West Florida. Florida is home to hundreds of local and migrating birds, as well as to thousands of alligators. The sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico are often bursting with vivid colors and outstanding cloud formations. This day workshop is timed for nesting and courtship season. Select either a private tutoring session or a small group (2-4 people) tour. This workshop is designed for photographers interested in improving their photography skills and looking for location guidance to capture the best wildlife and sunset shots. We will meet in the morning at a specific birding location in Sarasota County (exact location depends on bird and nesting activity and access). After shooting together for 2-3 hours, we will take an additional hour looking  at your images  and reviewing your photos on a screen. We will meet again in the early evening to capture Florida’s colorful sunsets. Claudia Daniels - Photographer

Claudia is originally from Mainz, Germany and for two decades has been enjoying life in Venice, Florida. Her artistic photographs are reflections of the natural world around her, especially landscapes and wildlife. She periodically employs diverse techniques to enhance and augment her photographs, such as artistic filters, high dynamic range imaging, and creative pre-and post processing effects.

Her images have been featured in various magazines, newspapers, and online publications. She is an experienced instructor and photography guide, and loves to share her enthusiasm for photography and travel. Her educational background encompasses an Associate of Science Degree in Graphic Design, a Bachelor of Business, and a Master of Liberal Arts with a concentration in English and Multimedia; Claudia taught Graphic Design Technology at the State College of Florida for a number of years.

Relatively easy but good footwear needed. Most locations and viewpoints are close to where we will be parked. There may be some walking on uneven terrain which could be wet and muddy, and some locations are hilly. Good sturdy, water resistant boots are advised.

Closest airports are Tampa, Sarasota, or Fort Myers. 

Otherwise you can fly into Orlando Airport or Miami Airport.

The weather can be quite warm this time of year, but the mornings and evenings chilly, so bring some warm clothes. Ideally layers that you can remove or put on. Bring wet weather gear and a raincover for your camera equipment.
