The base for our photo tour will be the fairytale-like Bled Lake. With its lovely old church sitting on an island in the middle of the lake, it is a truly magical looking place; especially when enshrouded in morning mist.
When the mist clears, it reveals a jaw-dropping mountainous backdrop. Legend says that the fairies who inhabit the island created the lake by flooding the valley with their magic to stop farmers from allowing their cattle to graze on the island.
As if an island church wasn’t enough, Bled Castle adds to the magic as it sits on a tall cliff seemingly standing guard over the lake. It looks fabulous lit up at dusk or dawn.
There are several great viewpoints from which to photograph Lake Bled, and it looks great too at both sunrise and sunset.
Nestled within a stunning alpine valley at the heart of Triglav National Park, Lake Bohinj is the true gem of Alpine Slovenia.
Resting tranquilly in its scenic location, surrounded by the majestic Julian Alps, it holds the title of largest permanent lake in Slovenia.
Much like Bled, Lake Bohinj showcases its beauty in the enchanting early morning mist, which dissipates to unveil the spectacular mountain scenery.
In the Triglav National Park, a wealth of waterfalls, lakes, and raging rivers await. The karst limestone rocks play a crucial role in filtering and directing water from high up in the alps, guiding it not only through rivers but also via subterranean tunnels.
In many places these tunnels burst from rockfaces, giving rise to breathtaking waterfalls such as Savica and Peričnik, and feeding the lakes and rivers in the valley.
During our photography journey we will visit and discover a variety of alluring spots.
Each location will offer different possibilities to learn and expand upon photography skills such as composition, working with long exposures, polarizers, neutral density filters and more.
We will be on location at the optimal time to capture the best light. Throughout the tour, we will offer post-production and workflow techniques.
