Join us for a fabulous photography tour and workshop in Edinburgh, Glencoe, and the Isle of Skye in Scotland. During this 9-day journey we will visit some of the most photogenic landscapes in Scotland. From dreamy waterfalls, blazing sunsets, traditional fishing villages, ancient castles, turquoise fairy pools and lakes to dramatic mountain scapes, we will encounter an array of exciting opportunities to take amazing images.

Our tour starts in Edinburgh where we will gather for an informal meet and greet in the afternoon at our hotel before heading out for our first evening city shoot. With an abundance of history, beautiful architecture, cobbled alleyways, and a castle situated on its own dormant volcano, Edinburgh is an incredible capital city. On our first full day, we will photograph the city’s highlights in the best early morning light. After breakfast we will embark on our drive to the Scottish Highlands.

The area around Glencoe will be our home for the next 3 nights. Glencoe and Rannoch Moor offer some of the best opportunities for stunning landscape photography. Our favorite spots include Castle Stalker, the Cauldron Falls,  Buachaille Etive Mòr, Lochan na h-Achlaise, the Black Mount as well as the Glen Etive road which affords 12 miles of magnificent Scottish scenery. From vast moorlands and incredible mountains, to clear lochs and stunning valleys, there is so much to admire on this scenic drive which was also featured in James Bond’s Skyfall film.

We will spend the next three nights on the famous Isle of Skye – a location listed as one of the  world’s most breathtaking natural landscapes. The Isle of Skye, or ‘Cloud Island’ in Old Norse, is the largest of the Inner Hebrides and the second-largest of  Scotland’s islands. This destination is on every landscape and nature photographer’s bucket list- it offers some of Scotland’s most spectacular scenery:  the soaring peaks of the Cuillin Hills, the dramatic geology of the Old Man of Storr and The Quiraing, an extraordinary assembly of pinnacles, rock towers and secret places. While on Skye, we will explore and photograph iconic locations such as the the Fairy pools, Cill Chriosd, Duntulm, Loch Fada /Leatham, Neist Point, the Trotternish Ridge, Elgol, the colorful harbor of Portree and more. After leaving Skye, we will stop at Eileen Donan Castle, one of the most recognized castles in Scotland. Then we will return to Edinburgh, where we spend our last night close to the airport and bid you farewell until next time.

The weather can be quite cold this time of year, and the mornings and evenings colder, so bring warm clothes. Ideally layers that you can remove or put on as we’ll be shooting before sunrise and after sunset, in the dark, when it will be colder. Bring wet weather gear and a raincover for your camera equipment.
