Stretching west from Germany’s remote southeastern corner to the Allgäu region near Lake Constance, the Bavarian Alps form a stunningly beautiful natural divide along the Austrian border. No matter the season, the iconic region displays nature at its best. In spring, as the snow melts and flowers blossom, Alpine valleys come alive with an array of colors encircling traditional villages and emerald lakes. During this 8 day, 7 night tour we will visit the famous King Ludwig II’s castle “Schloss Neuschwanstein”, take breathtaking images during sunrise and sunset of Bavaria’s baroque churches, quaint boathouses, emerald blue lakes, waterfalls, and stunning Alpine mountain scenes.  Join us to be inspired by the Bavarian zest for life, wealth of culture, and of course the fabulous cuisine and essential wheat beer also called “liquid bread”. We will spend 3 nights in Füssen in the Ostallgäu region, and 4 nights in Schönau am Königssee close to the Berchtesgaden National Park and next to the border of Austria. Come and explore this fairytale region with us and prepare to be enchanted! Claudia is from Germany, speaks the language, and is looking forward to showing you the beauty of her homeland.

Relatively easy but good footwear needed. Most locations and viewpoints are close to where we will be parked. There may be some walking on uneven terrain which could be wet and muddy, and some locations are hilly. Good sturdy, water resistant boots are advised.

Best place to fly to is Munich Airport. If coming from the UK or within Europe, check for flights at Easyjet or Wizz Air or Ryanair.

You can get information and public transport options from Munich Airport here.

The weather can be quite mild this time of year, but the mornings and evenings cold, so bring warm clothes. Ideally layers that you can remove or put on as we’ll be shooting before sunrise and after sunset, in the dark, when it will be colder. Bring wet weather gear and a raincover for your camera equipment.
